The award “Ratka Ilievska – Lale” for best short film shot with a mobile phone at 7th edition of Mobil festival, went to the film “Why?” by Murat Zherka. The prize is a scholarship from the University of Audiovisual Arts ESRA Skopje.
– “The film with its successful social engagement offers a response to the viewer and poses excellent important questions about the problem of pollution, and offers successful representation of the innocence of children and the approach of the danger that can be seen when the teddy bear is wearing a gas mask”, said the jury consisting of Vanco Mirakovski – editor, Damjan Ivanovska – film theoretician and Srebra Gjorgjijevska – journalist.
The festival, which took place at the Macedonian Cinematheque selected best authors in five categories. “Recursion” by Anastasia Tochevska won best film in the national program “Young Talents”, “Sonar”- film by a group of authors from the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany won Most influential film, “One, Two, Monologues” directed Blerina Goce from Albania received an award for the most original story and the movie “The Bubbles Do Not Lie” by Steppan Etrich from the Czech Republic was awarded for the best idea.
The festival program comprised of two workshops on stop-animation – one for children, in cooperation with the festival “Cinedays” and the other in collaboration with the high school “Josip Broz Tito”.
The festival is organized by “KT Film and Media” with support from the Macedonian Film Agency, City of Skopje, MEPSO, Macedonian Cinematheque and the Youth Cultural Center.
