8th edition of French Film Festival Opens Tomorrow


On a press conference which took place today at 11 am within the premises of the Macedonian Film Agency, the French Institute in Skopje announced the 8th edition of the French Film Festival, which will run June 17-20 in both Skopje and Ohrid.

The French Ambassador to Macedonia, Ms. Laurence Auerand, the Macedonian Minister of culture, Ms. Elizabeta Kanceska Milevska and the Macedonian Film Agency director, Mr. Darko Basheski announced the rich and entertaining program full of film screenings, exclusive guests, and workshops, a musical evening with F.A.M.E.S orchestra and for the first time this year a contest “My First Mini Video”.The screenings will take place in cinema Millennium and Frosina and the Cinematheque of Macedonia while the closing ceremony will take place simultaneously in the Centre of Culture in Ohrid and cinema Millennium in Skopje.

As a mean of furthering the collaboration and cultural ties between the countries, a bilateral agreement on co-production between Macedonia and France was also announced to be signed, which would enable the Macedonian and French producers to establish potential partnerships and make use of all the benefits of the new Film Industry Law.
