Best Camera Award For “The Woman Who Brushed Off Her Tears”




The Macedonian film “The Woman Who Brushed Off Her Tears” was awarded with the Golden Mimosa Award for Best Camera at the 2012 Montenegro Film Festival, taking place in Herceg Novi. The award, honoring the unique visualization that greatly contributes to the tone of the film, went to Hungarian cinematographer Mátyás Erdély  by the members of the international jury presided by Macedonian director Vladimir Blazevski.  The director of the film, Teona Strugar Mitevska also attended the festival.

The Macedonian short “Violent Youth” by Marko Gjokovik as well as Vladimir Mitevski’s short documentary “Reddakh” were also screened at the festival as part of the Student Film Competition Program.

This is the first award for “The Woman Who Brushed Her Tears”, which had its world premiere at the 2012 Berlinale. The film is also scheduled to take part at several international festivals, such as Espoo Cine in Finland and Tuzla Film Festival in Bosina and Hercegovina.

Last year’s Golden Mimosa for Best Male Role went to the Macedonian actor Jordan Simonov for his role in “Punk’s Not Dead”.
