EFA Young Audience Award

                 

For a third consecutive year the Republic of North Macedonia, the City of Skopje and 71 youths from the country joins the European family for the pan-European event – EFA Young Audience Award, dedicated to young film lovers, in organization of the Eurpean Film Academy.

The one-day event is organized by the Macedonian Film Agency and took place at the Cinematheque of Macedonia on Sunday, May 7, 2017.

The youths from our country and 36 other cities from 31 European countries had the deciding vote and awarded the best European film in the category and the votes of each participant city were transferred via a video conference to Erfurt, Germany where the award ceremony took  place at the end of the day.

11-years-old Jakov Grashkoski (“Hristijan Todorovski Karposh”) and 12-years-old Ana Kostovska (“Vojdan Cernodrinski”) have been selected as jury speakers who announced the voting results from Skopje.

The final votes from the young audience selected the winner of the ceremony, which took place the same day in Erfurt, starting at 8 pm, with a live stream on the internet. The children chose their favourite: GOODBYE BERLIN by Fatih Akin (Germany).

The event in Skopje was sponsored by Chupa Chups.

The city of Skopje for the first time this year joins the European family of cities participating in the presentation of the EFA Young Audience Award, an official category of the European Film Award, organized by the European Film Academy.

The award will be presented at a ceremony within the framework of the Young Audience Film Day on Sunday, 3 May, 2015.

Three nominated films will be simultaneously screened in 25 different cities across Europe to a 12-14-year-old audience acting as jurors.  At the end of the Young Audience Film Day the young audience elects their favorite and then transmits the votes of their city to EFA.  The result is announced at the end of the Young Audience Film Day via a live stream, in a ceremony taking place in Erfurt, Germany.

The event in Skopje will take place at the Cineplexx and will be attended by a 12-14 year old audience.

The program and activities in Skopje are organized by the Macedonian Film Agency in cooperation with Giffoni Experience– Italy and  “Giffoni Macedonia”. None of this would be possible without the generous support and participation by the sponsors Chupa Chups, Kapri, Jana Voda, Lotus Lounge Chairs, Cineplexx and Skopje City mall.
