The short film “Fighting for Deatgh” written and directed by Eleonora Veninova won the Special award for Best Male Role at Drama International Film Festival, Greece which went to actors Mite Grozdanovski and Ilija Strumenikovski for their roles of two old men fighting for the last gravesite at a cemetery in a remote Macedonian village.
The film’s script participated at several workshops for short film development in Latvia, Romania and Greece and have won Best Scripts award at the workshop “Drama Pitching Lab” two years ago.
The filming of Fighting for death” took place last year in the village of Kalen, Prilep. Dimo Popov is Director of photography, with Goce Kralevski as producer and editor, sound design by Darko Spasovski, set design by Nikola Angelovski. The film is produced by DNF Films and is supported by Macedonian Film Agency and “Kanal 5”.
The film is also scheduled to be screened at this year’s editions of Izmir International Short Film Festival in Turkey and Tuzla Film Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The producer is currently working on the preparations for the feature film “Overexposed” which was selected at the workshop “European Script Meeting” in Riga.
