Skopje Film Studio with two titles of its latest production participated in this year’s edition of the International Film Festival in Sarajevo.
The feature film “Frog” directed by Elmir Jukic, co-produced by Refresh Sarajevo (B&H), Skopje Film Studio (MK), Living Pictures (SR), Propeler Film (HR), on 14 August, experienced its world premiere in a beautiful atmosphere under Open skies and an audience of over 4,000 spectators at the renowned International Film Festival in Sarajevo.
The festival, with its long tradition, was held this year for the 23rd time in the period from 11th to 18th August 2017.
The script for the film “Frog”, based on the eponymous theater performance popular in these areas, is a joint work by Pierre Zalica and Elmir Jukic. Our Dejan Dimeski is signing as cinematographer, set designer is Mario Ivezic, costume designer – Lejla Graho. Producers are Ademir Kenovic, Tomi Salkovski, Dimce Stojanovski and Boris Matic. The roles are interpreted by Emir Hadzihafizbegovic, Aleksandar Sekan, Mirsad Tuka and Moamer Kasumovic.
The production of the film was supported by the national funds of the countries co-producers and the Council of Europe fund for support of the European film coins Eurimages.
In addition to the premiere projection, within the festival, the film was also screened on August 15th, 16th and 17th.
On August 16th, within the festival program, the TV series “The Black Sun” (“Shadows over the Balkans”) was presented with pre-premier projection of the first episode. The author of the series is Dragan Bjelogrlic, who is the main director, screenwriter and interpreter of one of the roles. As co-writers sign Danica Pajovic, Dejan Stojiljkovic, Vladimir Kecmanovic, and as episodic directors – Kosta Djordjevic, Danilo Beckovic, Srdjan Spasic, Igor Ivanov and Miroslav Lekic. The series includes actors Andrija Kuzmanovic, Maria Bergam, Gordan Kikic, Petar Arsovski, Jana Stojanovska, Nikola Ristanovski, Nenad Jezidic, Branimir Brstina, Slobodan Boda Ninkovic, Toni Mihajlovski, Axel Mehmet, Petar Mircevski and others.
”The Black Sun” is the co-production of Cobra Film Serbia, Skopje Film Studio and Iskra Russia. Co-producers included Radio Television Serbia, Radio Television Republika Srpska and Macedonian Radio Television. The project is supported by the Macedonian Film Agency.
Producer Tomi Salkovski, together with Uldis Dimisevskis, Georges Goldenstern, Behrooz Hashemian, Čedomir Kolar, Annamaria Lodato and Jani Thiltges, was member of the Jury of the Cinelink Co-Production Market, within which the Macedonian Film Agency awarded a prize to the project HOLY EMY, by the director Araceli Lemos from Greece.
