The 21st edition of Sarajevo Film Festival which opens tomorrow (August 14th) welcomes the largest number of Macedonian representatives so far, who will be present in different segments of the festival.
The Macedonian feature film “To the Hilt” will have its International premiere on August 16th as part of the Avant premiere section of the festival. The premiere of the film will be attended by some of its main cast including actress Inti Sraj and actors Martin Jordanovski, Jordan Simonov and Dragan Spasov Dac.
The projects “Nothing to Worry About” by Dimitar Banov and “Life Begins” by Sergej Stanojkovski will be presented within this year’s edition of the international Co-production Market CineLink. The project “Nothing to Worry About” is one of the projects that have received a grant by the Macedonian Film Agency at the 2012 Call for Applications for developing a first draft of original screenplay. As one of the novelties that the CineLink Market introduces this year is the MFA CineLink Award, awarded for the development of a new film project, in the amount of 10.000 euros. This award was previously awarded by the French National Film Fund CNC, and this year will be awarded by the Macedonian Film Agency. With this award, the Agency furthermore establishes its leadership position in the region with its continuous efforts for promotion of cinematography through a careful selection of quality international film projects.
Also, a record number of young filmmakers from the country will take part in the Talents Sarajevo Talent Campus, which program abounds with a series of workshops by leading experts. Macedonia will be represented by actors Deniz Abdula and Ivana Pavlikovik, directors Lidija Mojsovska and Tamara Kotevska, producers Goce Kralevski and Marija Dimitrova and director of photography Naum Doksevski. Marija Dimitrova will also take part in the Pack and Pitch Workshop, presenting the project “Sister”.
