film directors Stole Popov and Ivo Trajkov and Macedonian Film Agency CEO Mimi Gjorgoska Ilievska as festival’s honorable guests
This year Macedonia is in focus at the International Film Festival FEBIOFEST, which has already started and will run until March 25 in Prague, Czech Republic. The programme “Focus on Macedonian film” will showcase eight Macedonian feature films.
Part of the program are films by our eminent and internationally renowned director Stole Popov, i.e. his latest film achievement “To the Hilt” as well as digitally restored films “Tattoo” and “Gypsy Magic” which were part of the digital restoration of the entire film opus of Stole Popov, an initiative realized by the Cinematheque of Macedonia in 2011.
The “Focus on the Macedonian film” will also feature the films “Honey Night”, “90 minutes – Berlin project” and “The Great Water” by another internationally acclaimed Macedonian director, Ivo Trajkov.
The focus of Macedonian cinematography is enriched with two recent films of Macedonian film production – the latest film by Svetozar Ristovski “Lazar” and the feature debut of Darijan Pejovski – “Three Days in September.”
Stole Popov and Ivo Trajkov attended a press conference which took place today, dedicated to the Macedonian cinematography and the significance of their film achievements.
Besides the press conference, directors Stole Popov and Ivo Trajkov will present their films before each screening, and will afterwards meet with the audience for questions and open discussion.
Macedonian Film Agency director to attend a panel discussion on “Co-productions”
As part of the Focus of the Macedonian cinematography and immediately after the press conference within FEBIOFEST, the Macedonian Film Agency director, Mrs. Mimi Gjorgoska Ilievska will take part in a panel discussion. The panel is dedicated to the co-production or different approaches to the film industry, the rules, possibilities and ways of obtaining funds, the role and importance of co-productions and the positive and negative aspects of international co-productions.
During her stay in Prague, the Macedonian Film Agency Director will also meet with renowned production companies and representatives of FAMU with the purpose of promoting the Macedonian film industry.
Given the importance of this focus on the Macedonian cinematography, significant film professionals from the Czech Republic and other international guests at FEBIOFEST are invited to an informal meeting and Macedonian wines tasting by HE Pascal Stojceski, Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia in the Czech Republic.
