Macedonian Film Agency in cooperation with the European Film Academy, this year for the third time organized the event “European Film Day for young audience”.
On 7th May for the third time in Skopje took place unique pan-European event of the European Film Academy “Young Audience Award” in which participated around hundred young people from our country at the age between 12 and 14 years.
The event was held at the Cinematheque of Macedonia, where young people from Macedonia with more than 4.000 young people from 37 cities across Europe, as the driving force of the event, were part of an international jury which decided on the best European film in the competition.
Pupils from primary schools, “Vera Ciriviri Trena”, “Vojdan Chernodrinski”, Jan Amos Komenski” and “Kristijan Todorovski Karposh”, was Macedonian participants in the jury, as part of the international jury. The event was broadcast throughout all day via video link, at the same time in all participating countries, thus creating the opportunity for interactive communication among all 4.000 members of the international jury.
Nominated films this year were “Goodbye Berli”, Germany, directed by Fatih Akin, “The Girl Down Loch Anzi”, Switzerland, directed by Alice Schmidt and “My Life as a Zucchini”, Switzerland / France directed by Claude Barras .
After watching the three nominated films, discussions, entertainment activities and official vote, the jury from Macedonia chose “Goodbye Berlin”, as the film that they liked the most, which was also voted best by all Young European Audiences.
Voting from Macedonia was announced via a video clip that was engineered and recorded during the event by members of the Macedonian jury and it was shown during the official ceremony held in Erfurt, Germany.
The event was organized by the European Film Academy and Macedonian Film Agency, in cooperation with the Youth Film Festival Giffoni Macedonia, Giffoni Experience and Macedonian Cinematheque. Official sponsor of the event was Chupa Chups.
