The Macedonian Film Agency Director Mimi Gjorgoska Ilievska and the Creative and Artistic Director of Giffoni Experience, Claudio Gubitosi, who attended the 4th edition of Youth Film Festival Giffoni Macedonia yesterday attended a meeting with the Macedonian Minister of culture, Mrs. Elizabeta Kanceska Milevska.
Italian Ambassador to Macedonia, Mr. Carlo Romeo and representatives of Giffoni M, Darko Basheski – executive director of Giffoni Macedonia and Elena Velickovska Nikolovska – artistic director of Giffoni Macedonia, also attended the meeting.
The Minister of culture pointed out that the networking of Giffoni Youth Film Festival is of great significance to Macedonia, as a unique opportunity joining a great number of young people from across the world and representatives of film industry. Over the past years the festivals has not only been educational but has also managed to encourage the creativity, innovativity of children and youth.
She has also stated that the Ministry of culture will continue to support the festival and put an emphasis on the Agreement which has been signed between the Macedonian Film Agency and Giffoni Experience, which will result in an exchange of a great number of projects and a larger presence of the Italian film industry in Macedonia.
During the meeting, Mr. Gubitosi presented the plan of activities for 2017-2020 and stated that Giffoni Macedonia grew to be a central spot in the region thus becoming the second to importance international event, the first being the festival Giffoni Experience in Italy. The plan of activities envisions next year Macedonia to host participants of more than 20 world countries which will increase the number of realized activities emphasizing the greater presence of Italy.
Mr. Gubitosi also stated that this would not be possible without the efforts of the Giffoni Macedonia team and their organization of the festival, also mentioning his gratitude for the support given by the Macedonian Ministry of culture and the Macedonian Film Agency.
The Macedonian Film Agency Director, Mimi Gjorgoska Ilievska, stated her satisfaction over the realization of the entire project and pointed out that with the new three-years agreement with Giffoni Experience, the Macedonian Film Agency again is entrusted with the exclusive right to use the Giffoni brand and logo on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, valid until December 31, 2018.
The Italian Ambassador H.E. Carlo Romeo, stated that Macedonia is an exampke of a great cultural collaboration between the two countries where the combination of Italian fantasy and creativity and the Macedonian efforts and ambitions have resulted in a product which will be present for the years to come.
