The third edition of the Creative Documentary Film Festival MakeDox starts this Friday and lasts until June 22, with screenings taking place at Kurshumli an, the Children’s Theatre Centre and the Cinemateque of Macedonia. The festival will feature 62 award-winning documentaries from all over the world, which are being divided into five festival programmes, three of which are competition programmes – International Competition Programme, New Authors’ Programme, and Children and Youth Film Programme.
In addition to the official awards, the festival also introduces two special awards – Best Human Rights Film Award and Best Moral Approach Award.This year’s festival will also focus on the work of the cult Serbian director Zelimir Zilnik, who will be hosting a master class as part of the festival.
Aside from the various workshops, discussions and photography exhibitions the festival will also pay tribute to the work of the doyen of Macedonian cinema and photography, Blagoja Drnkov and two contemporary documentary filmmakers, Tomislav Georgiev and Ognen Teofilovski.
