Milcho Manchevski Awarded with CEI Prize at Trieste Film Festival


Trieste Film Festival has decided to award Macedonian film director Milcho Manchevski with the 2012 Central European Initiative Award for his film “Mothers” and his promotion of intercultural dialogue and original interpretation of  modern-day cultures. He has received the award at Trieste Film Festival, which is taking place January 19-25 in Trieste, Italy.
The Central European Initiative is a forum of regional cooperation in Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe formed in Budapest, 1989.
The film “Mothers” has had its world premiere at the 2010 Toronto Film festival and has since been screened at more than 30 International Film Festivals, winning five International Jury Prizes.
“Mothers” is Milcho Manchevski’s fourth film and was the Macedonian submission for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
