The 10th Edition of the Festival of European Film CINEDAYS was open yesterday (10th November) with screening of the film “In a Better World” directed by Suzanne Bier at the City Cinema Millennium. CINEDAYS will run until 20th November. This Edition of the Festival will offer 70 films.
The films will be screened in all five cinemas in Skopje – “Millennium”, “Frosina”, “Ramstore”, “Cinematheque of Macedonia” and the outdoors Cinema in the square “Macedonia”.
In the Official Competition will be screened 12 films selected by Bernd Buder. This year the Program “Balkan Link” is renamed in “Son Balkans” and its consist 8 films. In the Cinematheque of Macedonia in the newly established Program “Country in Focus” will be presented Slovenian and Georgian films.Programme “Macedonia and Europe” contains the achievements of producers and actors from Macedonia, who worked outside the borders of Macedonia in Slovenia, Turkey, Albania, Italy…
At the festival this year will be awarded “Golden Star” (Best Film), “Silver Star” (Best Director), “Blue Star”(Best Screenplay) and “Golden Sun” (Best Balkan Film). The jury consist of Ognen Cvilichiki from Croatia, Neil Young film critic from the UK and our young director Darijan Pejovski.
