Amok is a debut feature film written and directed by Vardan Tozija which will have its premiere on March 30 at the Cinema Millenium in Skopje, and is afterwards expected to have regular screening in cinemas across the country.
The film centers on a series of tragic events transform a quiet and withdrawn boy into an emerging, ferocious leader of a group of abandoned teenagers from a juvenile Adoption centre. The boys take the path of revenge, which soon escalates into a spiral of violence against the world that stigmatizes them as outcasts. In a world where they are commonly labeled as AMOK.
The cast includes actors Martin Gjorgoski, Deniz Abdula and Nikola Ristanovski, Sara Klimoska, Ljupco Todorovski, Adem Karaga, Goran Stojanovski, Igor Stojcevski, Boris Damovski, Marija Kondovska, Sasa Cinikic, Risto Burazdenov and Martin Zivkovski. Make-up and mask design is by Goran Ignjatovski, costimography by Zaklina Krstevska, sound design by Igor Popovski, music by Aleksandar Pejovski, set design by Kiril Spaseski and Natasa Dimitrievska, cinematography by Vladimir Samoilovski, editing by Atanas Georgiev, casting by Kirjana Nikolovska and production by Ognen Antov.
The film is a co-production between Macedonia (Dream Factory) and Albania (Red Helicopter Films) and is supported by the Macedonian Film Agency and SEE Cinema Network.
