World premiere of “Requiem for Mrs. J” at the Berlinale



The feature debut  film “Requiem for Mrs. J” by the director Bojan Vuletic, which is co-production between “SEE Film Pro” – Serbia, “Geopoly Film” – Bulgaria and “Skopje Film Studio” – Macedonia, will have its World Premiere at the 67th International Film Festival in Berlin, which will held from 9th to 19th February 2017. The film will be shown within the Panorama program.International Film Festival in Berlin is inscribed on the list of only fifteen competitive festivals in the world of FIAPF International Federation of Film Producers Associations, the only organization liable for regulation of film festivals worldwide, including the most important as Cannes, Venice, Montreal, etc.

Panorama program is competitive and is dedicated to independent film and the artistic vision versus commercial interests. Panorama is showing new films by renowned directors, as well as works of still undiscovered talents, with the focus on the emerging trends in author’s film.

“Requiem for Mrs. J.” tells the story which is current and universal and which emerges from the overall financial and emotional crisis in the world, mostly in the poor countries. The story follows the lives of four women belonging to different generations: mother, her two daughters and mother in law. The main character, Mrs. J, after running out of work and retirement, seeks finances to provide for her family. The older daughter is a secretly pregnant, younger daughter enters puberty stormy and mother in law is silent and did not communicate with anyone. In a different way, through black humor, this film tries to talk about serious issues of life in transition.

The film is written by Bojan Vuletic, director of photography is Jelena Stankovic, set designer is Zorana Petrov, costume designer is Lana Pavlovic, Jasmina Lilic was in charge for makeup and editor is Vladimir Pavlovsky. The cast includes: Mirjana Karanovic, Danica Nedelkovikj Mira Banjac, Jovana Gavrilovic, Srdjan Todorovic and others. Producers are Nenad Dukic, Pavlina Jeleva, Tommy Salkovski and Alexander Rodnjanski.
The world premiere of the film is scheduled for 13.02.2017 at 19.00h in the Zoo Palast Cinema 1. The film fil have additional screenings on Berlinale: on 11.02.2017 in 17:00h. in the cinema Cubix, on 14.02.2017 in 09:30h. in the cinema CinemaxX 7 and on 15.02.2017 in 14:30h. in the cinema Cubix 9.
