In the Macedonian musical cultural treasury the name of Vasil Hadzimanov is set on a high pedestal as a passionate explorer of Macedonian folk songs and one of the first Macedonian melodies and ethno-musicals. In his rich research work, he collected more than 6000 Macedonian folk songs from all over Macedonia and over 600 Albanian songs.

He was a participant and initiator for the formation of numerous music associations, and he was a member of the International Folk Music Association in London and a member of the Association of Ethno Musicals in New York.
