The short animation EDNA by Vuk Mitevski at the recently completed film festival in Krakow won the jury award for Best European Short Film and thus received a direct nomination for the European Film Academy https://www.krakowfilmfestival.pl/en/awards-of-59th -krakow-film-festival /

The European Film Academy completes the list of 15 Best Short Film Nominees from the award-winning films from 15 festivals, among which those in Venice, Berlin, Locarno, Sarajevo as well as Kraków Film Festival where EDNA won this award.

The interesting thing about this award is that it got selected from films screened in two categories- both short fiction and short animation films and it is precisely EDNA that won this prestigious award by the five-member jury. https://www.europeanfilmacademy.org/News-detail.155.0.html?&tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=647&cHash=54160caa95bdf4ab58b3d4e0c77b13cb

“Edna” is an 11 min. animation, a love story set in very unusual circumstances, narrated in a very abstract and poetic way, and inspired by the refugee crisis that North Macedonia faced as a country of transit. The animation was completely made in manual drawing and it took almost three years for the author to capture that magic.

The film is a co-production between North Macedonia and Belgium and is supported by the North Macedonia Film Agency.
